With the popularity of video games, computers, and television, it seems physical fitness is being replaced with new reasons to sit still. However, Felipe “Zicro” Neto is dedicated to the overall health of his students. We speak of physical fitness, healthy eating, and creating and maintaining good habits. After time passes and if the student is willing, we will then move toward competition training. In competition they will experience success and failure and deal with each outcome with the support of their coach and teammates. They will understand what it takes to become successful. Jiu-Jitsu classes may also help with discipline problems. Here, children fit in and are welcomed them as part of our team; they will learn the importance of humility, pride, confidence, and the ability to handle stress. The skills they gain through Jiu-Jitsu will help them in all areas of life.

The Zicro Academy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program is designed for people of all ages and walks of life. Jiu-Jitsu, as a martial art, is truly appropriate for everyone. Whether your goals are focused on learning self-defense, fitness or competition, our program is structured to meet your training goals. There is a place for everyone in our school!

Our program is led by Felipe “Zicro” Neto, an Alliance 5th Degree Black Belt, with a degree in Exercise Science and more than 30 years of experience in the art. In our program, you will be shown easy-to-learn, fundamental positions and self-defense techniques that will help you to build a strong foundation. As you progress in the program, more difficult challenges will be presented to you and more advanced techniques added to your foundation. Felipe’s philosophy is to contribute to the evolution and education of others through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, improving health, body composition, self-esteem and confidence.

The curriculum for the school is structured to maximize student learning. Our group classes focus on specific positions each week. We begin with simple techniques and progress to more advanced techniques as the week progresses. Classes include functional fitness and flexibility training, self-defense, drilling of techniques and live sparring.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a full contact combat sport that allows the use of both striking and grappling techniques. It combines kickboxing, wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and other techniques. Zicro Academy offers the best MMA training in Tallahassee for self-defense or sport with its high caliber instructors and amazing training facility, which also includes a full-size caged octagon.

Zicro Academy BJJ Self-Defense class teaches women & girls a safe, and effective form of self-protection. This class focuses on actions and techniques women can use to prevent altercations as well as physical defense solutions.

Functional training utilizes exercises that improve your movement proficiency in these primary patterns to give you an edge and enhance your performance so you can achieve your goals safely and with good health.

Fitness Kickboxing is for women and men of all ages. This is a fun, easy-to-follow cardio kickboxing and circuit training class. Join the Zicro Academy to punch and kick the heavy bags with hand wraps and gloves. We also incorporate a full body workout that will melt away fat and tone muscle. This class will help you transform your body, relieve stress, and improve balance, flexibility, coordination, and endurance.
